A NOTE FROM NOLAN & HANNAH

2006 — 2026

Today, Hannah and I celebrate twenty years of marriage.
It feels strange to write that. In some ways, our wedding still feels close. In others, it feels like several lifetimes have fit inside these twenty years.
There have been different countries, four sons, many goodbyes and more packing boxes than we care to remember.
| |
Through all of it,
God has been faithful.

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM • THEN + NOW
02 / GOD WAS ALREADY THERE
This summer, we visited Brussels as a family.
Brussels holds a lot of our story. It was our first overseas home after we were married, the city where our first three sons were born and the place where many of our early years together took shape.
But while we were there, God reminded me of something I had nearly forgotten.

THEN

COLTON / BRUSSELS / AGE 16
I had the chance to take him to some of the same places I visited at his age. Places where God began planting something in me before I had any idea what my life would become.
At 16, I did not know I would return to Brussels with a wife.
I did not know we would live there for nine years.
I did not know three of our sons would be born there.
And I certainly did not know I would one day walk those same streets with my own 16-year-old son.
God knew.
That small realization stayed with us.
Scripture tells us that God knew us before we were born. We believe that, but every so often He allows us to look back and see a small piece of what He has been doing all along.
This was one of those moments.
Twenty years of marriage have not given us a full view of the story. They have given us enough distance to recognize His hand in places we could not see it at the time.
And they have reminded us that we have never walked this life alone.
| |
So many of you have prayed for us, encouraged us and supported our family through the years.
Some of you were there when we were married. |
Some met us in Belgium, France or Israel. |
Some walked with us for one season. Others have stayed close through many. |
You have helped make this life possible,
and we are deeply grateful.
| |
Because we live far from many of the people we love, we want to invite you into this anniversary.
Send us a memory, a photograph, a voice message or a prayer for the next twenty years. We would love to hear from you.
For anyone who would enjoy blessing us with an anniversary gift, we have also included our Venmo information. There is no expectation attached. Your friendship, prayers and encouragement already mean so much to us.
A TOAST TO TWENTY YEARS
Today, we will raise a glass to twenty years.
To the places God has taken us.
To the people who have carried us.
And to the God who knew the story before we did.
